Environmental and Social Specialist (f/m/d) in the field of environmental and social impact assessment
We offer multifaceted tasks
- Categorization and assessment of the environmental and social risks of financing projects of KfW Development Bank and KfW IPEX-Bank in cooperation with project teams. This includes (a) the design and monitoring of in-depth environmental and social studies, (b) the design of management of environmental and social concepts and monitoring during the various project phases (where protection and mitigation measures are required) and (c) the management and supervision of external experts.
- Stakeholder dialogue on the projects of KfW Development Bank and KfW IPEX-Bank in cooperation with the project departments.
- Design and implementation of training courses on regulations and standards as part of the mainstreaming of environmental and social compatibility.
- Further development of technical standards for assessing environmental and social risks and KfW's internal rules and regulations.
- Participation in national and international expert discussions.
Your competencies and experiences
- Master's degree in natural or social sciences, a focus on environmental protection, nature conservation and resource management or a comparable qualification is preferred.
- Expert knowledge and practical experience in the field of environmental and social impact assessment and or due diligence of different sectors (e.g., infrastructure projects, financial sector, nature protection, etc.) particularly in the application of standards and assessment criteria of the World Bank Group (Word Bank E&S Standards, IFC Performance Standards, EHS Guidelines), the EU and the Equator Principles.
- Several years of proven, relevant professional experience in an international context, both in the analysis and assessment of environmental and social impacts and risks and in the design of technical and organizational solutions (E&S Management Systems).
- Very good knowledge of English and at least one other foreign language (French, Portuguese or Spanish) desirable; German language skills are of advantage as German is the working language at KfW.
- Strong analytical skills as well as the ability to quickly evaluate complex interrelationships and present them in an appropriate manner to meet audience needs.
- Flexibility in dealing with heterogeneous topics and requirements.
- Team player with a high degree of communication, cooperation and assertiveness.
- Willingness to travel to non-European countries.
